404 Memory Found is a nostalgia blog. We keep things simple. We collect anonymous visitor counts (no personal data attached), cookie preferences you set via our cookie banner, guestbook entries you voluntarily submit (name, email, message), and basic analytics through standard web server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited).
We use minimal cookies to remember your cookie consent preference, store local game leaderboard data (Pong), and remember if you've seen the welcome tutorial. No tracking cookies, no ad cookies, no third-party marketing cookies.
We use Firebase Realtime Database to store Snake game leaderboard scores globally. When you submit a Snake score, your chosen display name and score are stored. We use CounterAPI for anonymous visitor counting. We use Unsplash for post images, which may load assets from their CDN.
We don't sell, trade, or share your personal information with anyone. Your guestbook entries are stored for display purposes only. You can request removal of your guestbook entry by emailing us.

This site is built for fun and nostalgia. We take your privacy seriously even if we don't take ourselves too seriously.

By using 404 Memory Found ("the site"), you agree to these terms. The site is a nostalgia blog provided for entertainment and educational purposes. If you don't agree with these terms, please close this window and navigate away (just like exiting a program in Windows 95).
All original written content on this site is owned by 404 Memory Found. Blog posts are written for entertainment and informational purposes. While we research our stories, we make no guarantees about absolute historical accuracy. Product names, logos, and brands mentioned are property of their respective owners. Images are sourced from royalty-free platforms or used under fair use for commentary.
The Snake and Pong games are provided as-is for entertainment. Leaderboard names are public and visible to all visitors. Don't submit offensive names — we reserve the right to remove them. Game scores are stored via Firebase (Snake) and locally in your browser (Pong).
By signing the guestbook, you agree that your name and message may be displayed publicly. Don't post spam, hate speech, or anything you wouldn't want your 90s self to read. We reserve the right to remove any guestbook entry.
This site is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We're not responsible for any nostalgia-induced emotions, sudden urges to reinstall Windows 95, or time lost playing Snake. Use at your own risk.
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the site means you accept any changes. Major changes will be noted with an updated date above.

Remember: on the internet of the 90s, terms of use were just a checkbox nobody read. We've tried to make ours actually worth reading.
